Wyatt Widman of Arlington was the high overall champion in Bellevue on Saturday, leading his Fremont team at the latest Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference (ECTC) North Division senior shoot.
He shot 93-of-100 clay targets overall, finishing second-only to Millard Andrew Bauer in the handicap standings with a 48-for-50 showing.
Another Fremont marksman, Cole Campbell, was third in the handicap standings, too.
Blair Youth Shooting Sports (BYSS) was successful in Bellevue as well. The Clay Crushers team — Harry Kies, Morgan Shaner, Hayden White and Gaige Bolton — was first from 16 yards.
The BYSS Target Terminators — Kalvin Kies, Triston Clausen, Riley Brodersen, Tyler Hume and Evan Brodersen — were second in the handicap and high overall team standings, too.
Jaydyn Backman, meanwhile, was the high overall female finisher. The Blair shooter was 79-for-100 overall and 44-for-50 from 16 yards, which was good for second at that distance.
Revlyn Rasmussen also excelled during the third ECTC shoot of the season, earning second in the high overall female ranks. She was first among those competing from a handicap distance, too.
Additional BYSS award winners in Bellevue were Jase Lantry (first from 18-19 yards), Clausen (first from 20-21 yards), White (second from 16 and third from 24-25 yards), Harry Kies (second from 22-23) and Hume (third from 18-19).
Both Blair and Fremont shoot in Omaha next week.
Juniors shoot in Papillion
Junior division marksmen from BYSS and Fremont competed Saturday in Papillion.
Fremont's Drake Daubert was the only competitor from either team to earn an award, finishing with the sixth best showing — 46-for-50.
Jackson Kempcke led Blair with a 42-for-50 effort.
