Volleyball players claim all-state honorable mention

Newspapers recognize 2 Bears, 2 Pioneers and an Eagle

Five Washington County high school volleyball players recently earned all-state recognition across two state publications.
The Lincoln Journal Star recognized two Blair Bears and two Fort Calhoun Pioneers in Sunday's edition, while the Omaha World-Herald honored a Bear, the same two Pioneers and an Arlington Eagle.

Wolff, Mostek represent Bears
Senior Taylor Mostek and sophomore Olivia Wolff secured postseason honors from the newspapers.
Mostek received Class B honorable mention from both, while also securing All-Eastern Midlands Conference honors this past season. She finished her final prep season with team bests in kills (239) and service aces (52).
Wolff, meanwhile, secured honorable mention in the Journal Star. The libero had a team-best 446 digs this past fall.

FCHS' Thayer-Mencke, Weeks honored
Both Emilee Thayer-Mencke and Sophie Weeks secured Class C1 honorable mention from the Journal Star and World-Herald.
Thayer-Mencke, a sophomore, closed the season as the Pioneers' team-leader in kills with 248, aces with 48 and digs with 175. Weeks, meanwhile, notched 155 digs to go with her team-high 371 assists as a setter.

OWH honors Hilgenkamp
Arlington freshman Addilyn Hilgenkamp started her high school career with Omaha World-Herald honorable mention this past season.
The Class C1 setter concluded her debut campaign with 424 set assists, 143 digs and 26 service aces.
