Syracuse boys basketball beats AHS, 51-41

Eagles score just 3 4th-quarter points in loss

The Arlington boys basketball team beat Syracuse in three overtimes on Jan. 20.
On Friday, the Rockets earned their revenge at home, 51-41. They improved to 7-8, while the Eagles dropped to 8-8 overall.
Coach Jake Polk's AHS squad led 38-32 going into the fourth period, but was outscored 19-3 across the final 8 minutes. Oliver Ladehoff scored the Eagles' only bucket of the quarter, finishing with 13 points overall. Kieryn Grothe totaled 13 points, too, while Trent Koger had 10 in defeat.
Will Janssen, meanwhile, led Syracuse with 19 points. He scored six in the final quarter as the Rockets went 8-for-8 from the foul line collectively.
Arlington next competes 7:30 p.m. today against Fort Calhoun at home. Junior varsity play starts at 4:30 p.m. before the girls' game at 6.
