The second-seeded Blair boys soccer team defeated No. 3 Madison on Monday during the first round of the Class B Subdistrict 5 Tournament at South Sioux City.
The Bears won 3-1, earning a 2-1 halftime lead before adding a third goal late. Coach Curt Scott's team advanced into the 6 p.m. Wednesday subdistrict final back in South Sioux City, according to SSC officials.
The win pushed BHS' season record to 4-8, while Madison dropped to 3-5 in what is likely its final match of the spring. The Bears have won two in a row after starting the season 2-8.
