Sally Kies scored four goals Saturday as the Blair girls soccer team started the Class B Subdistrict 3 Tournament with a win at Krantz Field. The Bears (7-7 overall) beat Omaha Concordia 6-1, advancing to the second round against top-seeded Omaha Duchesne. Coach Brandon Palmer's team plays at Duchesne (12-3) on Monday, 3 p.m. Concordia scored the first goal of Saturday's match, but BHS' Allison Hernandez scored the next two. Kies then tallied the next four with one in the first half and then three during the second 40 minutes. Keeper Kaitlyn Johnson earned the win in goal for the Bears.
Blair boys play Monday, too The Blair boys soccer team starts postseason play 5 p.m. Monday at South Sioux City. The 3-8 Bears play 3-4 Madison during the first round of the Class B Subdistrict 5 Tournament.
