Freshmen Kalan Steinbeck and Brevin Leggott combined for 47 points on the road Friday, leading the Blair boys basketball team past Harlan, Iowa, 73-62.
Steinbeck led the charge for the 6-7 Bears, scoring a career-high 32 with five 3-point makes. The forward tallied 15 points during BHS' 23-point first period, which allowed coach Chris Whitwer's team to take a 16-point advantage into the second.
Leggott, who scored 15 points total, added eight during the second to push the visitors' lead out to 20 points at halftime — 41-21.
Harland eventually made a push to get back into the game with a 24-point fourth quarter, but the Bears held on. Steinbeck and Leggott combined to go 7-for-8 from the foul line during the final period to close out the win.
Blair next competes 7 p.m. today at Lincoln Northwest.

Bears fall to No. 6 Crete
Class B No. 6 Crete's Carter Rezny and Justus Gardiner combined for 45 points Thursday as the Cardinals knocked off Blair at home, 67-55.
The Bears were within striking distance late, but couldn't overcome the scoring process of the Cardinals. Rezny knocked down three 3-pointers during his 25-point effort, while Gardiner hit four toward his 20-point total.
Bo Meier, meanwhile, led BHS with 18 points in defeat. He had six on two long-range makes during the first half before getting to the line and scoring 2-point buckets during the second 16 minutes of game time.
