Blair High School’s Hudson Loges completed a 51-1 senior season Saturday during the NSAA State Boys Wrestling Championships with his second state title win in Omaha.
The Bears’ 138-pounder pinned Waverly’s Trev Greve in 1:17, capping a 4-0 tournament run with two wins by fall and another two by technical fall.
“My last match, just warming for that and getting ready for that, was just super cool,” Loges said, noting how he soaked in the experience.
The two-time champion is one of only five state champions in BHS history. The Bears have won nine individual titles overall with the Class of 2025 representative claiming one in both 2023 and 2025.
The Augustana University (S.D.) recruit is just Blair’s seventh three-time state medalist, too, joining his older brother Jesse on the list.
“I’m very, very thankful,” Loges said, crediting his club and school coaches, wrestling partners, family and friends. “I appreciate everything that happened for me. The Blair Bears’ support system was amazing.”
3 more county wrestlers medal
Blair’s Blaise Baughman and Cornez Tucker Jr., and Fort Calhoun’s Merritt Olberding, medaled in Class B on Saturday, too.
Baughman was third at 190 pounds, besting Bennington’s Dalton Rhoten by 7-1 decision in his final match of a 45-4 season. The now two-time medal-winning Bear was 4-1 for the tournament with one more high school campaign to go.
Tucker Jr. earned sixth at heavyweight, too, going 2-3 for the tournament. The senior won his first two matches Thursday and closes the season 40-15 overall.
At 120 pounds, Olberding closes his sophomore season with his second medal. The Pioneer was sixth in Class B with a 3-3 tournament record. He ends the year with a 42-11 mark.
Altogether, Blair finished seventh in the Class B team standings, while Fort Calhoun was 26th behind champion Omaha Skutt. Arlington didn’t have a medalist in Omaha, but it did take 47th as a team in Class C, which was won by Battle Creek.
