Arlington High School senior Dallin Franzluebbers earned a fifth-place medal to get the Eagles started Friday at the NSAA Class C State Track and Field Championships in Omaha.
In a brief break between extended periods of rain, the sprinter clocked in at 50.33 seconds for fourth in the 400-meter dash. Brody Galyen of West Holt won the race in 48.92.
Franzluebbers also competed during the 200-meter prelims and finished 13th.
Arlington athletes finished 10th in pair of Class C races, too. Kolby Tighe was 10th in the 3,200-meter run, clocking in at 10:02.8.
Kelise Krivohlavek, Corinne May, Hailey O’Daniel and Whitney Wollberg earned the same place in the 3,200 relay, too, finishing the race in 10:10.3.
Additionally, Wollberg and Rylie Kyllo were 13th and 16th in the pole vault as well.
Class C competition continues Saturday with Hayley Arp getting the Eagles started at 11:30 a.m. in the shot put.
