State Golf Update: Bears' Chaffee closes with 169 strokes

Blair High School junior Easton Chaffee finished the NSAA Class B State Golf Championships tied for 30th Wednesday at Scotts Bluff Country Club in Scottsbluff.
The Bear shot a first-round 82 over 18 holes Tuesday before adding 87 strokes Wednesday for 169 total. He carded two birdies during the tournament and shot par on 14 more holes.
Chaffee tied with Caleb Castillo of Ogallala, while Omaha Skutt's William Mullin won the individual state championship after one playoff hole against Elkhorn Mount Michael's Jacob Goertz. Both players finished 36 holes with 143 swings.
Blair's fellow Eastern Midlands Conference member, Norris, won the Class B team title with 598 strokes.
