A shorthanded Blair tennis team lost Thursday's home dual to Bennington, 8-1.
The Bears played without three varsity players due to illness and injury.
Abi Rothlisberger was coach Dallas Roach's lone player to earn a victory. She won her singles matchup, 8-6, but lost a her doubles match alongside teammate Mallory Dreher by the same score.
BHS senior Bailey Dingfield dropped an 8-6 No. 2 singles match, too, while No. 1 player Caitlyn Haggstrom fell 8-3. The pair joined forces, but fell short 8-5 in doubles play as well.
Jenna Murch-Shafer, Dreher and Jazmyne Roach also represented the Bears in singles competition. Roach and Murch-Shafer dropped their doubles match, 8-1.
The Bears next host Omaha Skutt in varsity tennis competition on Thursday. Play begins at 4 p.m. at Stemmermann Park.
