The Arlington High School seniors were dismayed when the scoreboard beyond the west end zone went dark Nov. 13.
All they'd wanted was a picture with the lit-up final score, 45-6.
The annual powderpuff flag football game pits the senior girls against the junior girls in a sophomore class fundraiser. Thankfully, the scoreboard was turned back on and the seniors posed for photos after a 39-point victory.
The seniors led the football contest from the start on a cool night with a wet field. Kelise Krivohlavek scored her side's first two touchdowns, taking off on a long run first before returning and interception for a score second.
The junior class got itself back in the game briefly when Emme Timm scored, but it was short lived. The 13-6 deficit was as close as the 11th-graders would get.
Hailey O'Daniel scored the seniors' last touchdown of the first half, while Callee Shearer scored the extra point. The points produced a 21-6 halftime advantage.
From there, O'Daniel, Grace Siver and Britt Nielsen added senior touchdowns.
After the game, the teams of Eagles shook hands before posing for their desired photographs.
