Semi driver uninjured in rollover accident

A semi driver who lost control of his truck, causing it to roll on its back, was unscathed following an accident on U.S. Highway 30 and County Road P29 Monday morning.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office, as well as Blair and Kennard fire and rescue squads, responded to the accident around 8 a.m.

The highway was closed at the roundabout in Blair in order to clear the semi and clean the road, which was covered in mud.

Sgt. Alex Judkins said the semi driver was headed westbound just past CR P26 when another semi on the side of the road pulled out in front of him.

"He hit his brakes, pulled to the right to attempt to miss that semi and the semi in question continued on P26," Judkins said. "However, the driver believes his back wheels went off the shoulder, sunk in the mud — after tha, he was unable to regain control and it pulled him all the way over and he rolled."
