Nebraska recruit Britt Prince facilitated the ball to her teammates and finished with 25 points as the top-ranked Elkhorn North Wolves beat visiting Blair Bears, 80-43.
The Eastern Midlands Conference win pushed the top team in Class B's record to 14-0, while coach Matt Aschoff's squad dropped to 7-7.
In the first half, BHS' Kaitlynn O'Neil and Claire Anderson scored their team's only two buckets of the 22-4 first period. The Bears responded, however, with a productive, 21-point second quarter.
Down 28-4, Anderson knocked down the first of four second-quarter Blair 3s. The sophomore stole the ball and scored, too, before Taytum Macholan capped the 8-0 run with another 3-point make.
Kate Wulf and Laynie Brown scored BHS buckets next before Macholan's second 3 cut the Wolves' lead to 39-19. An old-fashioned three-point play by Jacy Schueth — and another Macholan 3 — cut into the lead further before North took a 42-25 advantage into halftime.
Blair later lost the third period 23-10 before a 15-8 fourth quarter in the Wolves' favor. Macholan, a freshman, led the Bears with nine points, while both Anderson and Wulf scored seven apiece.
In addition to Prince's 25 points, McKenna Murphy had 18 and Reese Booth totaled nine for North.
BHS next competes today at Council Bluffs Lewis Central. The varsity basketball game starts at 6 p.m.
