Coach James Bislend and company covered Vets Field with a tarp prior to Monday and Tuesday's rain, but the Blair Senior Legion baseball team still wasn't able to host the ETC Knights Black squad.
The late Tuesday afternoon cancellation left Post 154 with a 4-1 overall record.
Notably, Coach Bilslend's ballclub split a pair of games during the final day of Fort Calhoun's home tournament Sunday. It first lost a 16-8 game to Hickman before winning the second game of the doubleheader against its host, 11-8.
Owen Mann earned Post 154's pitching win against Calhoun, producing three strikeouts across six innings. Andrew Smutny, meanwhile, pitched the seventh innings, striking out two more Zig Drywall batters.
At the plate, Blair's Lucas Matejka doubled and had three RBIs. Hudson Hamm and Nathan Murray plated two runs apiece, too, while Aiden McBreen also tallied an RBI.
Nelson Kosch, Post 154's centerfielder, scored four runs in the game.
Against Hickman, though, Blair struggled. It gave up nine first-inning runs and five in the sixth to lose by run-rule. Six Post 154 batters combined for seven RBIs — Max Rump was the only player with two — but it wasn't enough.
Both Hans Sorensen and Smutny were 2-for-4 at the plate in defeat.
After Tuesday's cancellation, Blair was set to host Platte River Rivals on Wednesday before today's road trip to the Lewis & Clark Classic in Yankton, S.D. Post 154 plays a Madison squad first at 10:15 a.m. before another matchup with Fort Calhoun at 2:45 p.m. in Riverside Park.
Tourney play continues through the weekend with Saturday matchups and start times to be determined.

Juniors are 2-2 overall
The Blair Juniors were supposed to play the ETC Knights Red team Tuesday, too, before weather prevented the game to happen.
Post 154 was 2-2 overall this season going into Wednesday's game. It will host Omaha Concordia today at 6 p.m. before a Sunday doubleheader at Seward.
Last Sunday, the Juniors closed out an Omaha Roncalli tournament stay with a 5-4 loss to Gretna East. The game-winning run scored on an error during the sixth inning.
