Annaleigh McLaughlin and Ali Dill secured top-five individual finishes Saturday as their Fort Calhoun girls wrestling team finished 13th out of 22 teams in Pierce.
Chadron won the Bluejays' invitational tournament, while Schuyler finished second, respectively.
McLaughlin, however, earned third at 105 pounds. The FCHS grappler 3-1, bouncing back from a semifinals loss to win two matches for third. She pinned Madison's Azul Pedraza in 56 seconds to close out her bronze-medal effort.
Dill, meanwhile, claimed fifth at 130 pounds at the end of a 3-2 day. The Pioneer finished all three of her wins by pin, stopping Tekamah-Herman's Taylor Lydick in 4:13 to finish up.
Additionally, FCHS' Kendall Magana-Torres and Anna Rae Hartline earned victories on the mat in Pierce. Magana-Torres was 1-2 at 120 pounds, while Hartline went 2-2 with a pair of first-period pins at 135 pounds.
Coach Lilly Gossman's Calhoun lineup next competes 10 a.m. Saturday at Tekamah-Herman. It wrestles 9 a.m. Monday at Conestoga High School as well.
