Twelve Washington County football players claimed all-state honorable mention from the Omaha World-Herald recently.
Seven Blair Bears, three Arlington Eagles and two Fort Calhoun Pioneers were recognized in last Sunday's edition of the statewide newspaper. BHS seniors Kaden Sears, Seagan Packett-Trisdale and Dane Larsen were among those receiving Class B honorable mention.
Sears finished with a team-best 77 total tackles, while Larsen had 64 and Packett-Trisdale tallied 23. The latter Bear started along both the offensive and defensive lines.
Blair underclassmen Bode Soukup (1,615 passing yards and 16 touchdowns), Brock Templar (558 rushing yards and 55 tackles), J'Shawn Unger (561 receiving yards) and Brady Brown (370 receiving yards) received honorable mention, too.
The same could be said for Arlington's Braden Monke, Weston Wollberg and Kaden Pittman in Class C1. Wollberg finished his finals Eagles' campaign with 65 total tackles, while Pittman and Monke had 44 and 34, respectively.
The FCHS Pioneers' Grayson Bouwman and Austin Welchert were also recognized in C1. Bouwman caught 42 passes for 801 yards and 10 scores, while Welchert through for 1,515 and 13 total.
Calhoun and Arlington fell short of playoff qualifications this past fall, while Blair returned to Class B postseason play, finishing out the season 5-5.
