Arlington High School runners Hailey O'Daniel and Kolby Tighe were recently recognized with the release of the Nebraska Coaches Association's cross-country Super-State and all-state teams.
O'Daniel claimed Super-State honors after winning an individual state title race Oct. 25 in Kearney. She was the only Class C Super-State honoree, though Aver Heinrich of Columbus Scotus, Holdrege's Brenna Benjamin, Scout Bell of Gothenburg, Auburn's Liston Crotty and Olivia Crotty, and Albion Boone Central's Autumn Gasper did claim all-state recognition.
Tighe, meanwhile, earned Class C all-state recognition from the Nebraska coaches after securing a sixth-place finish in Kearney. Lincoln Christian's Trevin Opp was Class C's Super-State recipient, while Avery Carter of Milford, Gothenburg's Tyler Hetz, Chase County's Haven Hauxwell, Dayton Graves of Syracuse and Omaha Concordia's Payton Day earned all-state honors like the aforementioned Eagle.
The NCA also releases Super-State and all-state teams for girls golf and boys tennis in the fall. In the spring, the association promotes girls tennis and boys golf recipients.
