The Arlington High School baseball team closed out its regular season schedule Monday with an 11-1 road loss.
The Eagles fell 11-1 to Class B No. 8 Omaha Gross, dropping to 6-14 overall. Coach Justin Meyer's team was scheduled to start Class C District 4 Tournament play Thursday against St. Paul/Palmer in Hastings. The district final is set for today, but the start time, location and matchup was unavailable as of press time.
Against Gross, senior Tim Halley scored AHS' run during the third inning. It cut the Eagles' deficit to 6-1, but it was as close as Coach Meyer's team would get during the run-rule loss.
Altogether, Tanner Kyllo, Luke Sharp and Liam Shearer logged hits against the Cougars. Kyllo's was a double.
On the mound, Arlington's Wes Monke and Shearer combined for three strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings.
