Arlington High School's Britt Nielsen scored 26 points Tuesday, but the North Bend Central girls basketball team still beat the Eagles, 50-41.
After an eight-point first half, Nielsen, a senior, scored six points during the third period and 12 during the fourth in an attempt to avoid AHS' second-straight loss after a 10-game winning streak. The road defeat, however, dropped her team's record to 10-3 overall.
The Tigers, meanwhile, improved to 7-6 as Lauren Sterup and Lindsey Emanuel combined for 28 points. Their team led 24-18 at halftime and added to its advantage with an 11-9 third period and a 15-14 fourth.
Emme Timm scored 10 Arlington points to aid Nielsen's efforts, but it wasn't enough. The Eagles were scheduled to host Syracuse on Thursday and next play Tuesday at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.
