The Class C1-4 Subdistrict Tournament's fourth seed knocked off No. 3 Tuesday night at Omaha Concordia.
The Arlington High School boys basketball team outscored Albion Boone Central 18-13 during the fourth period, producing a 53-49 postseason victory. Senior Trent Koger scored a game-high 29 points for the Eagles (13-10 overall), while also effectively hauling in boards, AHS coach Jake Polk stated.
“We rebounded well and took care of the ball for the most part,” the coach added. “Found a way to win and advance.”
The Eagles were scheduled to face the top-seeded Concordia Mustangs in the subdistrict final Thursday. Results from the game will appear in next week's Enterprise Media Group editions.
Against Boone Central (14-10), though, Koger scored 20 points after halftime. He made eight 2-point field goals and was 4-for-5 from the foul line alone during the third and fourth periods.
Oliver Ladehoff, meanwhile, added 15 Arlington points with three 3-point makes, including two during the decisive fourth quarter.
Owen Ladehoff (four points), Schuyler Logemann (three) and Luke Sharp (two) scored, too, leading the Eagles onto the next round of postseason play.
