A 16-year-old juvenile male was arrested for his alleged connection in a Mother's Day shooting in Omaha on Thursday in Blair.
According to a release posted by the Blair Police Department on social media, the Blair and Omaha Police Department, with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Dodge County Sheriff's Office and Fremont SWAT team executed a search warrant in the 400 block of North 23rd Street.
"This juvenile was taken into custody without incident and was booked into Douglas County Youth Center for first-degree assault, use of a weapon-gun to commit a felony and shooting into an occupied dwelling," the post reads. "At no time before or during the operation was there a threat to the public. A daycare in the area was put into lockdown as a precautionary measure."
The suspect's name has not been released.
According to the Omaha Police blotter, the incident occurred at 22nd and O streets in Omaha.
"During the course of the investigation, several suspects were identified and taken into custody," the blotter reads.
Additionally, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old juvenile were booked into the Douglas County Youth Center, as well as 20-year-old Jerry Bernal-Mejia and 18-year-old Luis Contreras-Gallardo, who were booked into Douglas County Corrections on felony charges.
