Blair drops ENBL semifinal

The Blair Post 154 Junior Legion baseball team lost its Eastern Nebraska Baseball League Tournament semifinals matchup with Hickman on July 2, 11-3.
Barrett Brown pushed across Blair's first run during the first inning, but the home team took the lead for good during the second frame. It scored three then and three more during the third inning to take a 6-1 advantage.
Post 154 later cut its deficit to three runs, 6-3, but didn't score again. Jaxon Logan was 2-for-4 to lead Blair, while Brown, Ike Petersen and Colin Jacobitz also notched hits in defeat.
The Juniors were scheduled to play again Sunday, but the game was called off. They also had an Omaha Creighton Prep doubleheader on Monday, but next compete during the Class B Area 2 Tournament in Plattsmouth. Bracket play begins Friday.

Calhoun ties Platte River Rivals
The Fort Calhoun Juniors and Platte River Rivals got off to a late start and played late into the night July 2.
The end result was an 8-8 tie, according to GameChanger. Post 348 is now 7-14-1 overall.
The tie game between Eastern Nebraska Baseball League teams included five lead changes. Calhoun produced the last during a five-run bottom of the fifth inning. It gave the home squad an 8-5 advantage, but not a win after the River Rivals evened the score.
Post 348 next competes during the Area 2 Tournament in Plattsmouth. The postseason event begins Friday.
