Blair Post 154 earns home win

The Blair Junior Legion baseball team picked up a 10-7 home win June 11 against the Waterloo-Valley Wingnuts.
Post 154 trailed by as many as four runs in the game, but pulled out the victory after breaking a 7-7 tie with three runs during the bottom of the sixth inning. Ike Petersen pushed across the first two runs of the decisive frame before Landon Bernasek plated him.
Blair was scheduled to play again Saturday in Plattsmouth, but the game was called off before the Juniors made the trip. The team was scheduled to play Elkhorn Mount Michael on Monday and next competes at Ashland today at 5 p.m.

Calhoun drops to 4-6
The Fort Calhoun Juniors dropped to 4-7 Thursday with their fourth-straight loss.
The ETC Knights of Elkhorn Mount Michael beat Post 348 on the road 13-1 in four innings, capping an 0-4 week for the Zig Drywall team. It was outscored 53-14 across Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Mason Reichert plated Calhoun's lone run against the Knights during the first inning. The single gave his squad a 1-0 lead at the time.
Post 348 lost on the road June 11, too, 7-4, to the Platte River Rivals Posts 47 and 340 team. Gannon Otte plated Rocco Ruma to start the game in North Bend, and Zig Drywall built a 3-1 lead, but the visitors ultimately lost when the home squad scored three runs during the bottom of the fifth inning.

Arlington drops tight home game
The Arlington Junior Legion baseball team lost a 4-1 home game June 11 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
Post 71's Burke Quinn scored a run to tie the game during the bottom of the first inning, but Pender scored the next three runs for the three-run victory. It was the Eagles' first game in a week after their previous matchup was postponed to 5:30 p.m. today due to a now-resolved issue with the ballfield lights in Arlington.
