Blair falls to No. 6 Gretna East
A Tuesday night home game against Class B No. 6 Gretna East didn't go the Blair volleyball team's way.
The Griffins (18-4 overall) scored a 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-17) win, dropping the Bears' season record to 13-10. BHS was scheduled to host Columbus on Thursday and next hosts No. 2 Norris on Tuesday.
Against Gretna East, though, Nicki Wendt led Blair with six kills. Madeline Chikos had three, too.
Olivia Wolff, Taylor Mostek and Hailey Roewert also had 15, 14 and 10 BHS digs, respectively.
Tuesday's home match against the Titans starts at 6:30 p.m.

DC West bests Fort Calhoun
Douglas County West defended its home court Tuesday, topping Fort Calhoun 25-14, 25-12 and 25-17.
The loss dropped coach Liz Sevcik's Pioneers to 8-7 this season, while the host Falcons improved to 10-9.
Ansley Elofson led FCHS in defeat with nine kills, according to maxpreps.com. Emilee Thayer-Mencke added four and Jovi Grenier had two.
Jordan Faucher and Thayer-Mencke added two service aces apiece, while Ella Bouwman tied Thayer-Mencke for the team lead in digs with seven.
Calhoun's Sophie Weeks had nine assists during the road match, too.
The Pioneers were scheduled to compete Thursday at Ashland-Greenwood and next play Saturday during their home tournament, which starts at 9 a.m.
