Harlan knocks off BHS boys hoops squad

Crayton Macholan and Ben Holcomb scored 11 points apiece, but the Blair boys basketball team dropped to 0-2 during January on Tuesday.
Harlan, Iowa, beat the Bears on their home floor, 63-51. Coach Chris Whitwer's team is now 5-6 two games into the new year.
BHS trailed the Cyclones 19-9 after one period, but battled back with an 18-13 second. From there, though, the Iowans outscored the Nebraskans 31-24 for the win.
Holcomb scored nine of his 11 points from beyond the 3-point line, while Macholan was 2-for-2 from the foul line with a 3-point make. Aidan Slominski added nine Blair points, too, while Chase Cottle made a pair of long-range shots.
Cody Christensen, meanwhile, led Harlan with a game-high 21 points.
