The Class C No. 8 Arlington High School baseball team snapped its four-game losing streak Saturday afternoon at Omaha Buena Vista.
The Eagles fell behind 2-0 through two innings, but answered back with 11-straight runs during the third, fourth and fifth frames of the 14-4 victory. Coach Justin Meyer's team outhit the Bison on the road, 11-6, and improved to 5-5 overall.
Tim Halley and Luke Sharp hit a home run apiece for AHS with Halley finishing with a team-best four RBIs. The senior was 3-for-5 at the plate, matching the efforts of Luke Ott, who doubled and had two RBIs.
Sharp and freshman Peyton Marfisi knocked in two runs apiece as well with the ninth-grader hitting a triple during the road game. Wes Monke plated a run, too, while Jack Morgan doubled during the game.
On the mound, Monke earned the Eagles win with 12 strikeouts across 5 2/3 innings. Sharp struck out two Buena Vista batters in relief, too.
Arlington was scheduled to host Raymond Central on Monday and next competes during the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament, which is tentatively set to begin Friday.
