Golf tourney set for River Wilds postponed to today

Arlington, Blair and Fort Calhoun were set to play 18 holes at River Wilds Golf Club on Tuesday, but weather concerns postponed the Bennington Badgers' tournament to today.
The first tee time is 9 a.m.
AHS and FCHS were able to play Monday, though. The Eagles competed at Tiburon Golf Club, dropping a 181-211 dual to Gretna East, which is led by former Arlington basketball and track coach Tyler Spitser.
Jacob Meehan led Arlington across nine holes, carding 47 strokes. Josh Hamre finished with 51, while Tyler Anthofer had 55 and Hunter Wallace carded 58.
Ben Stork finished with 61 varsity swings as well.
In junior varsity competition, AHS' Nate Erwin took 64 swings. Jonathan Taylor took 73, Wyatt Johnson had 75 and Jordan Camden carded 76.
Christian Yager had 78 strokes as well.
Meanwhile, at Hilltop Country Club in Wahoo, the Fort Calhoun Pioneers finished third Monday during a triangular. The host Warriors had 184 strokes, Ashland-Greenwood tallied 194 and FCHS notched 211.
Owen Miller, however, led the Pioneers with a second-place overall finish. He had 46 swings across nine holes, while first-place Luke Specht of Wahoo had 39.
Jayden Miller added 51 strokes for FCHS, while Caden Newman had 56 and Adam Elofson totaled 58. Beau Ruma had 59, too, while Aiden Garbers led the junior varsity lineup with just 49.
The Pioneers' Tysen Sunderman had 60 strokes in JV competition, too, while Aaron Milville carded a 62 and Kylee Ashbey had 67 swings. Korbin Klein finished with 71, too.

High School Golf
