Glenda Joyce Hamlett-Anderson, 80

Glenda Joyce Hamlett-Anderson, 80, of Kennard, passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Glenda was born on Nov. 15, 1940, in Richland Springs, Texas, the daughter of Andrew and Audrey Hamlett.

Glenda was raised in Texas on the family farm, until WWII,,where she and her family moved to San Diego, Calif. Her mother worked in aircraft production.

Glenda attended Hoover High School and graduated in 1958. Glenda also attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas.

Glenda worked in childcare, and at Scott Memorial Baptist Church. She also worked at General Dynamics as an Administrative Assistant and was involved in their Atlas Missile Development program. Glenda worked at Solar Turbines.

Glenda was married for 60 years to William “Bill” C. Anderson on June 18, 1960. They shared three children, David Anderson of Hoskins, Joyce “Joy” Denning of Omaha, and Sheryl SherryDinkins of Arlington. They share nine grandchildren and 14 great grand children. Glenda was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Carroll-Hare and her sister Lydia Jean Arce.

She had many hobbies, including cooking, sewing, camping and table games.

There will be a private Celebration of Life Ceremony on May 29, 2021, at 12 p.m. located at Fremont Family YMCA Camp Christensen, 3402 W Military Ave, Fremont NE 68025.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Kennard Fire and Rescue Dept. located in Kennard.

She was and still is greatly loved and missed by many.
