FRIDAY FOOTBALL UPDATE: Washington County goes 0-3

Arlington, Blair and Fort Calhoun High School went 0-for-3 under Friday night lights.
The Eagles lost at home to the Class C1 No. 2 football team, Wahoo, while Blair and Fort Calhoun lost road games to Class B No. 1 Bennington and Class C1 No. 3 Ashland-Greenwood.

Badgers top Blair
BHS (3-3 overall) scored first Friday at Bennington, but the Badgers scored the next 34 points to win, 34-7.
The Bears’ Brock Templar raced 69 yards to set up a 10-yard Bode Soukup to Brady Brown touchdown pass in the first quarter. From there, though, Bennington’s Quinton Archer scored four touchdowns and Evan Utech hit two field goals as the defending state champs improved to 6-0.
Blair, meanwhile, next plays 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at Elkhorn.

Pioneers lose by 36
Fort Calhoun quarterback Adam Elofson connected with Grayson Bouwman for a 96-yard touchdown pass, but the Pioneers still lost at Ashland-Greenwood on Friday, 56-20.
TJ DeMilt and Maddox Halford scored fourth-quarter touchdowns, too, but FCHS dropped to 1-5 overall. It next hosts Omaha Roncalli on Oct. 6 in its homecoming game.

Eagles lose 56-0
Arlington held Wahoo to just seven first-quarter points, but the Warriors scored 35 in the second to go ahead 42-0 and, eventually, win 56-0. The visitors improved to 6-0 with the victory, while the Eagles dropped to 1-5.
AHS next plays at Schuyler on Oct. 6.
