Friday Football Update: Eagles, Bears drop homecoming games

Pioneers lose Thursday at Roncalli

The Arlington and Blair football teams dropped homecoming games Friday night a day after Fort Calhoun fell on KXVO's Thursday Night Lights.
The Eagles (0-7 overall) lost to Schuyler (1-6) at home, 10-0. The Warriors made a first-quarter field goal and notched a touchdown with 8:03 left in the second quarter, but were shut down from there.
Jacob Beans had four sacks for the Arlington defense, while Weston Wollberg totaled 14 tackles.
The Blair Bears (4-3), meanwhile, fell behind Elkhorn 21-0 during the second quarter before battling back to 21-21 in the third. From there, though, the Antlers won 31-24.
BHS' J'Shawn Unger and Brock Templar (2) scored touchdowns in defeat, while homecoming king Sergio Dominguez hit a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to pull the Bears within seven points with 5:05 left.
On Thursday, the Pioneers (2-5) lost a 45-21 game at Omaha Roncalli. FCHS fell behind 45-0 before Austin Welchert, Grayson Bouwman and Levi Lasher each scored touchdowns.
