The Blair High School football team earned its first win of the season Friday in a wild finish at Krantz Field, while Arlington picked up its fifth victory and Fort Calhoun fell at No. 1 Wahoo.

Blair 14, Elkhorn 13
In a battle of winless Class B teams, the Bears (1-7 overall) made the game-deciding stop with no time left on the clock.
Down 14-7, the Antlers (0-8) scored with a 39-yard touchdown heave on the final timed play of the fourth quarter. After a timeout by Blair, Elkhorn attempted to win the game on a 2-point conversion play, but fumbled on a handoff attempt and fell on it.
The Bears celebrated the stop and coach Will Lansman’s first win as BHS head coach, but only after they themselves scored the go-ahead points with 40.2 seconds remaining. Senior Blaise Baughman finished off the 5-yard scoring run by extending the ball across the goal line before notching the game-winning extra-point kick.
Blair initially trailed Elkhorn 7-0 during the first quarter, but tied the matchup with a 20-yard Colin McCabe touchdown run — and Baughman’s first made PAT — during the second quarter.
“It feels good for the kids because it’s been a long couple of weeks,” Lansman said after game. “The nice part is they just did it. They just went out and out-played them.”
The Bears next close out their season Oct. 24 at Omaha Skutt.

Arlington 38, Tekamah-Herman 6
The Eagles improved to 5-3 Friday night with a 32-point home win against the Tigers (2-6).
AHS led just 8-6 at halftime, but scored 30 third-quarter points to inch closer toward what the school hopes is its first playoff berth since 2018.
Oliver Ladehoff scored two Eagles touchdowns during the victory, while Ben Flesner, Peyton Marfisi and Luke Sharp scored one apiece.
Arlington closes out regular season play Oct. 24 at Class C2 No. 6 Fremont Bergan (7-1).

No. 1 Wahoo 35, No. 8 Fort Calhoun 0
The top-ranked Warriors (8-0) added more credibility to their Omaha World-Herald rating Friday, shutting out the Class C1 No. 8 Pioneers (6-2).
Wahoo led 7-0 after one quarter and 21-0 at halftime before notching a touchdown apiece during the third and fourth periods.
FCHS closes out regular season play Oct. 24 at 3-5 Douglas County West.
