Bears rout Knights
Coach Bryan Soukup’s Bears improved to 3-2 with Friday’s 42-7 win against Elkhorn Mount Michael.
Quarterback Bode Soukup threw four first-half touchdown passes, completing them to Brady Brown, Brock Templar and Ethan Baessler. Overall, all three players finished with two touchdowns apiece.
Baessler’s second score was a school-record kickoff return during the third quarter. It unofficially covered 99 yards and put BHS ahead 35-7.
The Bears next play at Class B No. 1 Bennington on Sept. 29.

Pioneers fall short at home

Conversely, the Trojans (2-3 overall) scored the game-winning touchdown with just 7:44 left in the game. FCHS fell to 1-4 in defeat.
Bouwman scored his touchdown on a 77-yard Adam Elofson pass, while Welchert turned a Platteview screen pass into a 55 yard interception return TD.
Calhoun next plays at No. 3 Ashland-Greenwood on Sept. 29.

The Arlington football team lost 62-15 at Columbus Scotus on Friday.
Kaden Foust scored the Eagles’ first touchdown on an 81-yard run. Cooper Staats later connected with Trent Koger for a passing score, too.
