The Fort Calhoun Senior Legion baseball team led Omaha Central by five runs July 2, but it couldn't close out the win.
The Invictus Eagles scored three times during the fifth inning and five more runs in the sixth, securing an 8-5 road win on Zig Drywall's diamond. Coach Jerry Wellwood's team dropped to 14-12 in defeat.
Before losing the non-league game, Post 348 built it's five-run lead with four scores during the third inning and one more in the fourth. Chase Premer and AJ Duros reached base to start the third before Nathan Kramer plated courtesy runner Colin Bolay with an RBI single.
Calhoun's Sam Genoways pushed across the second run before JT Mlnarik was hit by a pitch and Alex Christensen supplied a run-scoring sacrifice. Logan Schwab's sacrifice bunt then made the score 4-0 in the home squad's favor.
An inning later, AJ Duros hit into a run-scoring error to produce the aforementioned 5-0 advantage. It all went south from there, though, as Central scored the next eight runs and earned the road win.
