The Fort Calhoun Senior Legion baseball team finally played Omaha Concordia on Tuesday and picked up its 10th win of the season.
Zig Drywall topped its visitor 2-1 in a game that took less than 2 hours. The matchup had twice been thwarted by postponements, but, ultimately, allowed coach Jerry Wellwood's team to improve to 10-9 overall.
Concordia scored first Tuesday during the third inning before Post 348 scored the game-tying and winning runs during the bottom of the fourth. Declyn Ott and Logan Schwab notched an RBI apiece for the victors, while Chase Premer, AJ Duros, JT Mlnarik and Alex Christensen also logged hits across six innings.
Class C all-stater Kenny Wellwood was the winning pitcher, throwing six innings and striking out six batters. He allowed just one hit.
Mlnarik pitched the seventh frame for Calhoun, too, striking out three batters for the save.
Zig Drywall was scheduled to play Wednesday at Syracuse and next competes 5 p.m. today during the Mile Collins Memorial Tournament at Elkhorn Mount Michael. Coach Wellwood's team plays Seward in its first game of the weekend event.

Post 348 falls in Gibson semis
Last weekend, the Fort Calhoun Seniors fell two runs shy of reaching the Bob Gibson Classic finals Sunday at Omaha Buena Vista.
Zig Drywall scored three sixth-innings runs, but it wasn't enough to overcome Springfield, which scored five during the fourth frame of a 5-3 victory. The loss was Calhoun's ninth of the summer season.
Christensen pushed across two of Post 348's runs during the sixth inning, while Mlnarik plated one. Nathan Kramer, Sam Genoways and Jordan Back notched hits in defeat as well.
