Conestoga improved to 3-0 against the Fort Calhoun volleyball team on Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep.
The host Cougars (6-19 overall) beat their visitors 25-20, 25-14 and 25-18, dropping coach Sarah Rangel's Pioneers to 4-23 this fall. FCHS previously dropped matches to Conestoga on Oct. 2 and Oct. 14.
Despite its loss, Calhoun started strong on the road. The Pioneers took an early 8-3 lead during the 25-20 first set. Olivia Quinlan served first with the ball never making it back over the net, giving the road squad a 1-0 advantage.
After a Conestoga hit went long, Abbey Lienemann's ace serve earned FCHS a 3-1 lead. It was 5-2 after an Ellie Collins attack went unreturned and 7-2 when history repeated itself.
Calhoun was scheduled to close its regular season Thursday during a Wisner-Pilger triangular and will next play during the Class C1-6 Subdistrict Tournament. Game times and matchups were unavailable as of press time, though the tourney is scheduled to played Monday and Tuesday.
