Four of Fort Calhoun's five golfers took less than 100 swings Tuesday as the Pioneers earned seventh out of 14 teams at the Logan View Invite.
Altogether, coach Dustin Humphrey's team carded 369 strokes — 65 more than first-place Fremont Bergan.
“Weather was great,” the coach said.
Tysen Sunderman led FCHS in 24th place at Elkhorn Valley Golf Club in Hooper, taking 88 swings across 18 holes. He had 46 across the first nine before adding 42 on the back.
Adam Elofson, meanwhile, had just one more swing than Sunderman, finishing with 89 strokes. He was 28th overall, while Beau Ruma was 34th with a 94 and Caden Newman took 98 swings for 40th.
The Pioneers' Korbin Klein finished with 106 swings, too.
The overall individual tournament champion, Brody Rogers of Tekamah-Herman, shot an 18-hole 70.
Fort Calhoun, however, was scheduled to play again Thursday during the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament. It then competes in the May 15 Tekamah-Herman Invitational at Northridge Country Club.
