The Louisville Lions managed just six points through three quarters Thursday against coach Marty Plum's Fort Calhoun girls basketball team.
The Pioneers ultimately won the road game, 47-16, improving to 9-4 this season. The Lions dropped to 4-11 in defeat.
“Team defense was terrific,” Plum said. “To hold anyone to six points for three quarters is just a testament to how hard our kids worked on defense.”
FCHS outscored Louisville with 23 combined points from Bria Bench and Raeann Massey, too.
“Raeann gave us great energy and Bria was steady all night,” Plum said. “Ansley (Elofson) played a great floor game.”
Bench, a senior, finished with 12 points, while Massey had 11. Elofson added seven points and Maelie Nelson had six, too, as eight Pioneers scored.
Allie Hiatt, meanwhile, led the Lions in a losing effort with six points.
