Blair and Fort Calhoun were among the 18 scoring teams to take part Monday during Conestoga High School's Spotlight on Girls Wrestling event.
Coach Terry Bellamy's Bears earned third behind Millard West and Adams Central, while Lilly Gossman's Pioneers took ninth.
Both BHS' Emma Belnog and FCHS' Beckah Gossman won their weight classes. Belnog went 4-0 at 130 pounds, pinning her way to the top of the podium.
Gossman, meanwhile, earned four pins at 145 pounds, too. None of the unbeaten freshman's matches took longer than 43 seconds, according to trackwrestling.com.
Fort Calhoun's Ali Dill and Anna Rae Hartline added top-three finishes at Conestoga, too, as six Pioneers overall finished in the top-eight of their weight classes. Dill wrestled Bellnog during the 130-pound finals, while Hartline battled back from a major decision semifinals loss to pin Omaha North's Karmen Del Rio during the third-place bout.
Blair's Ali Wheeler and Madi James added their own top-three finishes as well. Wheeler earned two pins before a loss in the 120-pound finals to North's Chelsey Robinson.
James, however, pinned Crete's Charlotte Sebaaly in her last match of the Cougars' tourney after a semifinals loss at 145 pounds.
Altogether, though, 13 Bears in Coach Bellamy's lineup secured top-eight finishes. Maren Thompson won her junior varsity bracket with four wins, too.
Both BHS and FCHS next compete 4 p.m. today on the Bears' mats. Arlington and Logan View will also be in attendance for the 2 River Ruckus quadrangular.
