Senior Reece Ewoldt set her second school record of the track and field season Thursday as the Blair Bears won the Lincoln Northwest Invitational.
Coach Bryan Soukup's girls squad outscored second-place Wahoo Neumann 107-101 to claim first, while the BHS boys finished second only to Omaha Skutt, 143-71.
Ewoldt set a new school mark in the 1,600-meter run to start the season, and on Thursday crushed Lindsay Lannan's 21-year-old record in the 3,200 — 11:32.2. The future University of Nebraska-Kearney Loper established the new 2024 mark at 11:18.4, while teammates Allie Czapla and Nadia Davey set new personal bests in the race, taking third and sixth, respectively.
Ewoldt also won the mile race in 5:23.94, while Jade Wickwire and Kate Wulf finished first and second in the 800 run. Wickwire stopped the clock in 2:28.62, which was less than 3 seconds faster than Wulf.
Blair's Hailey Roewert, however, earned her event win in a field event — the high jump. The multi-sport athlete cleared a bar set at 5 feet, 2 inches to win. The height tied her for fourth on BHS' top-10 chart.
Emma Ammon's effort in the triple jump, meanwhile, was good for third during the Lincoln Northwest meet and third on the Bears' all-time chart. She cleared 34-6.75.
Ali Wheeler, however, pole vaulted over a bar set at 8 feet to take third, while Reese Beemer earned her bronze medal in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.57 seconds.
A pair of BHS girls relays — the 400 and 3,200 lineups — added a pair of runner-up finishes, too, helping their team to a first-place finish.
It was Colin McCabe and Chase Cottle, though, who pushed the Blair boys to second as a team. McCabe won the 100-meter dash in 11.04 seconds, which was good for fourth on the Bears' top-10 chart.
Cottle, meanwhile, won Thursday's high jump event with a leap of 6-2. His teammate, Hayden Daggett, was third.
The Bears' Declan McCabe and Braden McGill added individual second-place finishes, too. McCabe finished the 800 run in 2:02.58,while McGill covered 146 feet, 4 inches with his best discus attempt.
Senior Ben Holcomb added a third-place effort in the 300-meter hurdles, and the 1,600 relay team secured second in its race.
BHS next competes Saturday during the Wahoo Warriors' home event.
