The 120-pound Class B state runner-up wrestler's career will continue with the Morningside Mustangs.
Kelise Krivohlavek is the second Arlington High School Eagle to sign with coach Jordan Cliff's Sioux City, Iowa, program in the 2025 recruiting class, joining teammate Callee Shearer.
“I had so much fun at state,” Krivohlavek said Thursday. “I didn't want that to be my last time ever wrestling.”
The record-setting grappler went 36-2 this past season, earning her second NSAA state wrestling medal in February. She's also the first AHS girl to reach the state finals.
Krivohlavek, a multi-sport athlete, visited the Mustangs' campus and enjoyed it.
“I really like the campus and everybody was so nice,” she said. “I just really loved it.”
While the institution fit her athletically, it also met her academic expectations as she plans to go into nursing.
“That was another part,” Krivohlavek said of her decision to sign. “They had a really good (nursing) program and I could do wrestling, too. It was like a win-win.”
She'll join Shearer in Sioux City, but also Blair High School wrestler Riley Martin, who celebrated signing with the school in February. Another former Bear, Josie Biffar, was on the Mustangs' roster this past season.
Krivohlavek is looking forward to competing at the next level, but admitted she was a bit nervous going from folkstyle wrestling in high school to freestyle at Morningside.
“But,” she said. “I think I'll be fine.”
