Four Washington County high school wrestlers will compete at the upcoming NSAA State Wrestling Championships in Omaha.
Arlington’s Brooklyn Ruskamp and Kelise Krivohlavek, and Blair’s Ali Wheeler and Savanah Roan, earned their spots for the Feb. 15-17 event at the CHI Health Center with top-four finishes Friday.
The Eagles, Ruskamp and Krivohlavek, competed at the District 1 Tournament in Battle Creek. Krivohlavek won the 125-pound bracket, while Ruskamp was fourth at 105.
Wheeler and Roan, meanwhile, wrestled at York during the District 2 Tourney. Wheeler was first with a 3-0 record at 115 pounds, while Roan earned fourth at 130.
District competition continues Saturday with boys wrestling. Arlington is in Albion, Blair is in Aurora and the Fort Calhoun Pioneers are contending for state qualifications at Grand Island Northwest.
