DISTRICT UPDATE: Blair’s Schroeder qualifies for state golf

Bears, FCHS and AHS all compete Monday

Blair High School senior Jack Schroeder earned 10th Monday during the Class B District 2 Golf Tournament at York Country Club, qualifying for the May 28-29 NSAA Class B State Championships in Gering.
The Bear finished 18 holes with 81 strokes, tying a career low he set last week during the Waverly Invite. He finished nine holes even and never carded more than a double bogey (2-over par) on any hole.
Schroeder’s effort led BHS to an 11th-place finish with 399 strokes in York, while Fort Calhoun took 12th with 441. The York Dukes earned first with just 319 swings.
In addition to Schroeder’s 81, the Bears’ Justin Bird and Nolan Wolfe finished with 105 district strokes, respectively. Degan Dresden finished with 108 swings and Jacob Hanson shot a 123.
Beau Roma, meanwhile, led Fort Calhoun with 100 swings during the B2 Tournament. Caden Newman carded 112, Adam Elofson had 114 and Tysen Sunderman finished with 115.
The Pioneers’ Korbin Klein carded 118 strokes, too.

Eagles compete at C2 Tourney
The Arlington Eagles were 14th Monday at the Class C District 2 Tournament in Beemer, too.
AHS carded 443 swings at Indian Trails Country Club, while Fremont Bergan won the tournament with 323.
Winston Slykhuis carded 112 swings, Schuyler Logemann had 113 and Jack Rosenbalm totaled 120 for the Eagles. Hunter Wallace notched 124 swings and Trenton Hansen finished with 143.
