Delores was born June 20, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Phillip and Goldie (Wilford) Hedrick. In January 1941, they moved to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and were there during the attack on December 7th.  In January of 1942, as the women and children were evacuated, she boarded a ship with her mother and sister.  Fearing submarine attacks, the ship zigzagged, and was blacked out for the trip to California.  Over the years, she and her family moved several more times to Minnesota, then Nebraska, Missouri, and Iowa. Delores graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa.  In 1964 she moved to Omaha and later began working for Omni Hotels and continued to work there until her retirement in 2012.

Delores was a longtime member of DAR and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Delores is survived by her children; Patrick Miller of Omaha, Terrie (Aigars) Deklavs of Blair, Steven (Starla) Ball of Santa Ana, CA, Kelli (Paul) Mickeluinas of Omaha, and Michael (Socorro) Ball of Temecula, CA, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and 3 nieces.
