Washington County members of the Fremont High School swim team produced in the pool Thursday during the Tigers' season debut.
Brynn Eckhart, Lizzie Meyer and Cade Arnett of Arlington were all apart of event wins during FHS' home dual wins against Columbus as were Ryleigh Schroeter, Jane Busboom and Jacob Hanson of Blair. The girls' team won 116-35, while the boys claimed a 104-29 victory against the Discoverers.
Eckhart, a junior, dove for the first time in the season opener and won. The Eagle finished with a score of 148.5, besting second-place teammate Kallie Johnson.
Meyer, meanwhile, won the individual 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.34, and was a member of the Tigers' first-place 200 medley and freestyle relay teams.
Arnett was also a key cog to a victorious FHS 200-yard medley relay lineup. His individual win, however, came in the 100 freestyle, which he finished in 58.97 seconds.
Schroeter, a BHS sophomore, won two individual races to go with her 400 free relay finish as well. She won the 50 freestyle and clocked in at just 57.25 to win the 100 free.
Busboom joined Schroeter, Kiera Spilinek and Kami Spilinek on the winning 400 relay team, too. Together the Tigers finished in 4:08.79.
Hanson's 200 medley relay team with Arnett, Landon Lamson and Connor Christ clocked in with a winning time as well.
Another Arlington Eagle, Dathan Hansen, started his swimming season with a pair of individual races — the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. He earned fourth in the 50.
FHS next competes Tuesday against Norfolk at the Dillon Family Aquatics in Fremont.
