Blair High School senior Brooke Janning claimed All-Nebraska first-team status as the Omaha World-Herald recognized 13 Washington County softball players overall with the recent release of its all-state teams.
Janning was the only non-Class A first-team honoree on the All-Nebraska squad, which encompasses all classes. The Class B first-team captain finished this past season with 24 pitching wins, 326 strikeouts and a 1.475 ERA. She also hit .495 with five homers and 34 RBIs.
The Blair Bear wasn't the only first-teamer from Washington County, though.

First-team honorees
In addition to Janning, both Kaylee Taylor and Tacey Belina of Fort Calhoun earned first-team status with their efforts this fall.
Taylor is a member of the World-Herald's Class C first-team lineup after hitting at a .574 average this past season for coach Mandy Taylor, her mother. She scored 56 runs, had 62 hits and notched 33 stolen bases, breaking seven school records this fall.
Belina, meanwhile, hit 15 homers and had 56 RBIs, breaking FCHS records in both categories.

Second-team honorees
Two Bears, one Pioneer and one Arlington Eagle earned second-team honors, too.
Mia McClain and Laynie Brown represented coach Jennifer Fangmeier's BHS squad on Class B's second team as sophomores. McClain, an infielder, hit .405 this season, while Brown hit .377 between half innings in the outfield.
Fort Calhoun's Anna Taylor, meanwhile, earned Class C second-team status after earning 13 pitching wins this past fall. She recently signed to play collegiately at Morningside University in Iowa.
AHS' Britt Nielsen, however, secured second team honors after starting four-straight years. The shortstop hit .303 this past fall, finishing with three homers and 24 RBIs.

Honorable Mention
Washington County's Jacy Schueth, Addie Benoit, Izzy Greenough, Izzy Nolan, Kallan Reed and Lydia Schaapveld received World-Herald honorable mention, too.
Schueth played catcher for the Bears, while Benoit, Greenough and Nolan all helped push Fort Calhoun to its first state tournament appearance and wins. Reed and Schaapveld, meanwhile, earned their recognition playing under coach Janelle Lorsch in Arlington.
