Columbus sweeps Blair volleyball team

Bears drop to 13-11 with loss

Taylor Mostek notched a team-best 13 kills, but the Blair High School volleyball team lost Thursday's home match to Columbus, 3-0.
The 15-5 Discoverers swept coach Jess Lansman's Bears 25-19, 25-22 and 25-19.
In addition to Mostek's 13, junior Emma Ammon totaled five kills in the loss. Hailey Roewert had four, Madeline Chikos produced three and Nicki Wendt had two.
Mostek had two ace serves and six digs, too, while Chikos earned BHS' team lead in digs with 15. Libero Olivia Wolff had 14 and Roewert notched 10 digs as well.
Roewert, the Bears' senior setter, had 17 assists.
Coach Lansman's squad has lost two matches in a row after winning four of its previous six. It hosts Class B No. 2 Norris today at 6:30 p.m. before Saturday's Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament on the Titans' home floor.
