Blair native Mark Clements is set to join the Class of 2025 M-Club Hall of Fame class at Northwest Missouri State University this fall.
The former Dana College director of athletics worked at the school in Maryville as an association athletic director from 2003 through 2018, according to a NWMS release.
“Clements handled a wide variety of internal operations for the Bearcats including game day operations, budgeting, ticketing, student labor oversight, purchasing/procurement and facilities,” it stated.
He also played an integral role in putting together the annual Fall Classic, which pitted the Bearcats football team against Pittsburgh State at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City from 2002 to 2013, and opening Bearcat Stadium.
Clements was a Northwest administrator for four football national championships and the Bearcats' first men's basketball title win in 2017. He also played an important role as the school hosted its first NCAA Central Region hoops tournament that year.
Additionally, Clements oversaw several facility projects in Maryville and was a member of the NCAA Division II national baseball committee from September 2016 through November 2018.
The Blair native and Dana College graduate will be inducted Oct. 24 at the J.W. Jones Student Union Ballroom before he and his fellow honorees are recognized during Northwest's homecoming football game against the University of Nebraska-Kearney on Oct. 25. The M-Club's Class of 2025 also includes Bob Gonsoulin (baseball), Collin Bevins (football), Brandy Haan (track and field), Jake Vollstedt (football) and Kyle Zimmerman (football) as well as the Division II national championship football teams of 2015 and 2016.
