Pioneers best Concordia by 28 points

Bria Bench led four Pioneers in double figures Tuesday as the Fort Calhoun girls basketball team produced a season-high 77 points.
Coach Marty Plum's senior tallied 19 by herself as the home squad routed Omaha Concordia by 28 points, 77-49. The victory was FCHS' 10th of the season, while the Mustangs' loss tally hit double digits as well.
Bench, a 5-foot-11 forward, made three 3-pointers, while freshman teammate Ansley Elofson totaled 17 points with eight 2s. Ninth-grader Raeann Massey notched 16 points, too, while Maelie Nelson — a sophomore — scored 12.
Pioneers Izzy Greenough (four points), Ella Bouwman (three), Anna Taylor (two), Sophie Weeks (two) and Jovi Grenier (two) made shots as well. Together, they helped their team top its previous season-best point total by nine.
Eliza Schmidt, meanwhile, led Concordia with 16 points.
