BYSS marksmen signs with Iowa Western

Blair Youth Shooting Sports (BYSS) marksmen Hayden White signed on with the Iowa Western Community College Shotgun Sports team last week.
“When I started on the Blair trap team, I quickly fell in love with the sport,” he wrote in response to questions about his signing from Enterprise Media Group. “By continuing on to college, I feel that I can make my parents and coaches proud.”
White has competed in multiple sports through his high school years, but found most success in trapshooting. He enjoys the places it's taken him and the people he's had to meet through it.
“Almost everyone I meet is cool, and they don’t mind giving tips about the sport,” he said.
White made his decision to join Iowa Western after a campus tour and a practice with the Reivers.
“The atmosphere was great,” he said. “All the team members were extremely nice and they helped me significantly in shooting skeet, which I had only done three times prior to that day.”
White hit 103 of 150 targets at the most-recent Cornhusker Trapshoot in Doniphan and helped his Blair team win a conference title this past fall.
Reivers coach Derek Pollock recently signed Anissa Hill, too, according to DJ Zolck of BYSS. She went 111-for-150 at the Cornhusker Trapshoot last April.
