Bears go 2-1 in Bellevue duals, too

The Blair wrestling team took road trips to Bellevue West and Boys Town over the weekend.
The Bears went 2-1 in duals on Thunderbird mats Friday before taking first on the Cowboys' during a Saturday competition.
Coach Erich Warner's squad started two-straight days of wrestling with a 60-14 dual win against Omaha Gross in Belleuve. It won 11 of 14 matches with the Cougars, earning pins in eight of the wins. Charlie Powers had the quickest, sticking 145-pounder Ethan Le to the mat in just 40 seconds.
Dex Larsen (195 pounds) and Lance Hume (heavyweight) also had first-period pins, while Atticus Dick, Shay Bailey, Landon Templar and Yoan Camejo earned their's during the second and third.
Luke Frost added a technical victory at 113 pounds, while Dylan Berg and Braden Hanson went the full 6 minutes for victories.
In the second dual at Bellevue West, BHS fell to Aurora 37-33. Templar, Powers, Berg, Dane Larsen, Dex Larsen and Loges earned wins against the Huskies in a losing effort.
In the finale, Bears won eight more contested matches during a 51-23 win against Plattsmouth. Powers' pin took just 20 seconds, while Gabe Gaskill's took just 21 at 220 pounds.

Bears win Boys Town Invite
Blair earned four weight class titles Saturday, claiming the 50th Boys Town Invitational with 133.5 points.
Second-place Omaha Central had 118.5 points, while Wahoo earned third with 94.
Templar, Powers, Dex Larsen and Gaskill earned first-place finishes in their weight classes. Templar and Powers were 4-0 in the round-robin tournament, while Larsen was 2-0 and Gaskill was 2-1.
Powers' showing stood out as he won his weight class with three pins and a tech fall.

Blair Wrestling
